Cycle to support school for the deaf

-

School Group THE Mid West School for Hearing Impaired Children in Rosbrien has been chosen as the beneficiary of this year’s Cycle4SickChildren (C4SC) 2015 Awareness Tour on June 28.

The tour, which sets off from Delta Retail Park, includes three route options with distances to suit all ages and abilities – a 45km route for novice cyclists, 75km for the more experienced and 120km for those looking for a challenge.

A bicycle donated by RAW cycles in Delta Retail Park will be raffled on the day, while Frank Hogan Limerick will provide lead and back-up cars.

Celebrating its fifth birthday this year, C4SC is a Limerick-based cycling club set up to create awareness and support the needs of sick children while also helping people to get fit and achieve their cycling goals.

The Mid West School for Hearing Impaired Children’s early intervention playschool currently receives no official funding so teaching and resource staff must be paid through fundraising.

The school, which caters for children from junior infants through to 18 years of age in post primary, currently has pupils travelling from all over the Mid West region as it is the only school for hearing impaired children outside of Cork and Dublin.

For more information about the cycle and to help support the school, go to www.cycle4sickchildren.com.
