JUST one week before Morrissey’s birthday, (we can’t be sure if Stephen Patrick Morrissey marks the occasion himself) Limerick will be first to celebrate with a Manchester Night featuring tribute band These Charming Men and Dr Eoin Devereux on the decks. Both the band and Devereux are just back from playing a Morrissey/ Smiths Convention in the UK.
Dr Eoin Devereux told Limerick Post, “Playing a DJ set on Morrissey’s home turf in Salford was a dream come true.”
These Charming Men played the album ‘Meat is Murder’ in full as well as their usual mix of Morrissey and Smiths classics.
It is 30 years since the release of The Smith’s second album. Produced by the band themselves, it featured just one single ‘That Joke Isn’t Funny Anymore’ and a slew of Morrissey and Marr’s finest moments, ‘What She Said’, ‘Barbarism Begins at Home’ and ‘I Want the One I Can’t Have’.
These Charming Men play Manchester Night, performing ‘Meat is Murder’ in full at Dolan’s this Friday May 15.
