THE University of Limerick Kayaking Club (ULKC) recently paddled the River Shannon along the UL campus to make a big splash on its ecosystem. Kayakers supported by the UL Green Committee scoured the banks and islands on the river searching for rubbish discarded by humans and the winter storms. “The river and area around UL are now looking a lot cleaner due to the immense efforts of everyone who helped out. Hopefully people can get out to UL during the summer and enjoy the cleaner surroundings,” said Cormac Rowe of ULKC.
