TWO men remain in Garda custody this Friday morning following the discovery of the body of a man stabbed to death in County Limerick on Thursday night.
The victim, a 31 year old man from Limerick city, was found at a house in The Grove Estate in Pallasgreen shortly after 11:15pm.
Emergency services attended and he was pronounced dead and his body remains at the scene. It’s believed he suffered a number of stab wounds.
A 34 year old woman, was taken to University Hospital Limerick with a suspected stab wound and was treated overnight. Her condition is understood to be stable as her injuries are described as non life threatening.
No motive for the killing has been confirmed.
Gardai believe there were up to eight young people in the house at the time.
Two men, aged 20 and 32, were arrested at the scene in connection with the investigation and are currently detained at Henry Street and Roxboro Road Garda Stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Detectives are trying to establish his connection to the address where he was found as it is some 25km from the city.
The murder scene has been preserved and the Offices of the State Pathologist have been notified.
