THE Limerick Writers’ Centre will host May’s On The Nail literary gathering on Tuesday 5 at is its usual haunt for this calendar faithful, The Locke Bar. Show up at 8pm to meet invited guests, poets Ann Marie Kennedy and Evan Costigan and writers for the open-mic session.
Anne Marie Kennedy has an MA in Writing from NUI Galway and is winner of the Molly Keane Creative Writing Award 2014.
A performance poet, her prose and poetry has published in many places and has broadcast on Sunday Miscellany. She freelances for Irish Music Magazine and is a regular contributor at The Moth and Butterfly storytellers’ nights in Galway.
Evan Costigan has had poems published in New Irish Writing, Burning Bush 2, Cyphers, The Moth, Cúirt Annual, Census 3 Anthology and elsewhere.
Shortlisted for this year’s Hennessy Literary Awards, he won the 2012 Francis Ledwidge International Poetry Award and was shortlisted in numerous competitions. These number the Listowel Writers’ Week Single Poem Competition, the Bridport Prize, Over the Edge Competition and Red Line Poetry Competition.
Limerick Writers’ Centre acknowledges the support of Fóras na Gaeilge and The Arts Council of Ireland in its events and endeavours.
