LIMERICK City and County councillor Maurice Quinlivan said that if they are elected to government, Sinn Féin will abolish water charges. Speaking after his party launched its Water Services Repeal Bill, the City North representative commented: “The anger towards both the charges and the Government is palpable with growing discontent over the ongoing failure to listen to the people and address the issue in a meaningful way. Sinn Féin has been very clear on our position. We want to see the water charges scrapped and we will if we are in a position to do so after the next General Election”.
