THE ‘highlights of the Hunt Collection’ series of lectures presents another two, again at 1pm and offered free to the public. On Friday April 17 Aisling Ryan, a graduate of LSAD and fashion designer, will address her ‘Experience of Working in a Fashion House’.
On Tuesday May 5, Dr Philip Cottrell of University College Dublin gives his lunchtime lecture on a Venetian art mystery. His unit is ‘Sherlock Holmes, Giovanni Morelli and the Curious Case of the Three Bonifacios’.
The object of the month for April in the Custom House is The Medieval Mether as chosen by Javier Buron, director of Fab Lab Limerick.
Finally, Friends of the Hunt are hosting a lunchtime talk on Tuesday April 21 at 1pm. ‘A Historical Limerick Journey through Postcards’ takes place onsite, given by Canon Donough O’Malley who has a vast collection of postcards in his possession.
These feature views of Limerick city and county, some dating from the 1890s. Tuesday 21 will be an illustrated talk on his collection, “focusing on a selection of City postcards that provides a chronicle of the changes in the world around us down through the decades”.
The talk is free for students and members; €5 for non members.
