WRITTEN and directed by Myles Breen, Limerick Youth Theatre will stage ‘Around the World in 80 minutes’ on Monday March 30 and Tuesday 31 at 8pm in Lime Tree Theatre.
According to choreographer Angie Smalis who heads up LYT, this “is a comic family show with movement pieces performed by members of Limerick Youth Theatre, service users from the Daughters of Charity, featuring the Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ Choir and musicians from Music Generation Limerick City”.
This collaboration is in its fifth year with LYT members, service users, choir and musicians rehearsing together – 120 in all – for the past three months.
We are invited to “enter a world where Jules Verne’s classic tale meets ‘The Hunger Games’. Teams – The Blue Bottles, The Black Bulls and The Red Robins – will compete to become the Around the World Champions. In 80 minutes, the audience will be transported to over 15 countries without ever leaving their seats”
