LABOUR Party councillor Joe Leddin insists that the draft Mungret masterplan currently being prepared by Limerick City and County Council’s Economic and Planning Department must include a site to facilitate the provision of a new secondary school in Mungret. “The 200-acre site purchased by the Council last year offers significant opportunities for the development of an education campus incorporating Montessori, Primary and Secondary schools. However the Council must now indicate through the masterplan the provision of a suitable site to provide for the building of a new secondary school adjacent to the planned primary schools,” he added.
