This symposium, organised by Margaret O’Keeffe, Dr. Gwen Moore and Tanya Power from the Department of Arts Education & Physical Education, MIC, in association with MIC Artists-in-Residence, will examine ways in which engagement of Artists in Residence and the arts in higher education can be fostered and deepened.
The primary purpose of the composer residency programme is to enliven the musical culture of the MIC campus, and to allow practising artists to feed into the educational programmes and work of the institution.
Speaking on the importance of a symposium of this nature at this Margaret O’Keeffe, Lecturer in Drama Education said,“This exciting symposium will provide staff, students and the wider community with an opportunity to experience and to engage with the work of the artist in residence. It will feature performances, pop up activities and a diverse range of arts experiences. In addition, the role of the arts in education, society and children’s lives will be discussed”.
This event will be of particular interest to everyone who has an interest in the arts, specifically drama, music and the visual arts. Book by email at [email protected]
