The appointment of Pallaskenry woman and Thalidomide survivor, Lee Gath to act as confidential recipient of abuse allegations has been welcomed by Limerick Fine Gael TD Dan Neville. “She will be the recipient for whistle-blowers, staff and residents, in relation to safeguarding issues and allegations of abuse, negligence or other mistreatment in HSE funded services for vulnerable people.” Deputy Neville praised HSE Director General Tony O’Brien for selecting Ms Gath for this very important position.  “She has been doing sterling work fighting the corner for the disabled and those whose voices are not being heard by society”, he added.
