CAHERDAVIN native John Giltenan made history at the Annual General Meeting of the Council of Irish County Associations when he was elected secretary of the umbrella organisation for Irish exile groups in London. He was the first Limerick person to be elected to the position since the group’s foundation in 1953.The Council plays a leading role in organising a wide range of events including the annual London St Patrick’s Day Parade as well as social and charitable activities.
