HAVE YOU had the pleasure of Lepage Cranbrook, โaffluent socialite and amateur detective who dons a skeleton mask at night to become The Boneyard Man, New Yorkโs most terrifying crime-fighterโ?
Well, shame if not but make up the loss by following this immensely likeable trash to The Kasbah on Dock Road tonight, Thursday 26. Producer/ director Norma Lowney has created further episodes of the1940s spoof noir with collaborators and actors Karen Fitzgibbon (Margery Road), Lepage (Kevin Kiely) and Everyman (Darren Maher).
In truth, they each play multiple roles to drive this wonderfully hokey stuff places โ spontaneous laughter, your memory bank, future hopes for repeat verse.

Donโt underestimate the power behind Thursday 26โs episodes, โA Really Gigantic Sharkโ and โEscape from Shanghri-Hooboโ, written by Canadian Jayson McDonald. Lowney was up for an Irish Times Theatre Award 2014 last Sunday forย miraculousย set design to โOn the Wireโ, for Best Production, no less. This WW1 new play gunned with emotional resonance and the truth of its tale.
Back to Kasbah’s firelit, candle-lit backdrop to Margery, Lepage and co. Probed on just what the appeal to her slick Bone-headed series is, their creator answers sweetly: โThey are stupidly funny. I think itโs just that silliness and it is not trying to be cleverโ.

She spools back to universal childhood preferences, observing โ[The Boneyard Man] is formulaic for a start and people love that, be it โThe A-Teamโ or โMcIvorโ or you, know, the man with the moustache?โ Magnum PI, take a bow.
Norma Lowney is excited about the new space at Kasbah opened out to them by Valerie Dolan, supporter supreme of artists through resources of venue and interest. 8pm doors to this evening’s ruses or in advance at ww.dolans.ie
