LIMERICK City and County Council has been asked to carry out a full survey of a local authority housing estate in Askeaton so that “faults and misdemeanors” can be identified and dealt with. According to local Fianna Fáil Councillor Kevin Sheahan, a horse is lodging at a house in the Church View estate at night. “He is fed inside in the house and left in a green area during the day. This is atrocious,” he declared at this month’s Adare-Rathkeale municipal meeting. “There are also young fellas taking the covers off manholes and leaving them up. I’m not saying this is being done by people living in the estate but it is happening,” said Cllr Sheahan.
