VILLAGERS aka Conor O’Brien has a new album ready to release on April 10. ‘Darling Arithmetic’ is Villagers third album and the supporting tour will see the band return to Limerick playing Live at the Big Top, Limerick Milk Market on Sunday May 24.
Villagers previous albums Becoming a Jackal and Awayland are both hugely acclaimed and Mercury-nominated. Pre publicity for the new record ‘Darling Arithmetic’ promises that O’Brien’s latest record is “breathtakingly beautiful, intimate album entirely about love and relationships.”
‘Courage’ is the first single to be released from the album heralding a return to the sparse acoustic-leaning sound of his debut album. It is an extraordinary and beautiful song. All of ‘Darling Arithmetic’ was written, recorded, produced and mixed by Conor O’Brien in the loft of a converted farmhouse at his home in Malahide. O’Brien plays every instrument on the album backing his emotive vocals and guitar with piano, mellotron and brushes.
Performing songs from ‘Darling Arithmetic’ as well as classic Villagers tracks from Becoming a Jackal, and its successor, Awayland, Villagers play Live at the Big Top on on Sunday May 24. Tickets on sale Friday February 13.
