THERE’S not long to go until pantomime season in Sixmilebridge as the local youth club takes to the stage with its production of ‘Pinocchio’.
The popular show takes place over the last two weekends in February, with 8pm starts on Friday 20, Friday 27 and Saturday 28. The performance on Saturday 21 is a matinée beginning at the grown up time of 6pm.
More than 50 young people from this Clare village are set to dazzle audiences with captivating musical numbers, sensational dance routines and, as always, witty and lively comedy.
The pantomime follows the story of Pinocchio, the wooden puppet who is set to be transformed into a real boy. Pinocchio’s creator Antonio Gepetto, meanwhile, is attracted to devious circus owner Gypsy Angelina but she faces competition from pizzeria owner Mama Macaroni, in the guise of the traditional panto dame.
