Irish Chamber Orchestra’s opening concert for the year falls on Thursday 5, between Dublin and Sligo gigs. Hungarian cellist Istvan Vardai will play Schumann’s Cello Concerto A minor; Schostakovich’s Scherzo and Prelude for strings follows.  The ICO commissioned Cork born Sam Perkins to create new work for them and the resulting composition ‘Nimbus’ will premier on February 5 at the concert hall .
