THE Limerick Music Generation project will hold a concert which will be streamed worldwide from the city tonight Tuesday January 27.
Music Generation’s Boris Hunka explained, “The event is the second in Music Generation’s Limerick Voices series, and follows the success of a similar event last November which involved music on three stages, streamed live to a worldwide audience, that event drew instant responses from New York, Dubai and Sydney.”
The event in November featured teenagers from Music Generation’s songwriting programme, the live event next week however will bring the cream of Limerick’s music scene centerstage. Footage from both concerts will form the foundation for the ‘Limerick Voices Archive’ which promises to be an online, ongoing repository of multi-generational, multi-genre creative expression.
The line-up is a powerful array of local singers, spoken word artists and instrumentalists. They include Kat Turner, Stephen Ryan (Windings, Giveamanakick), God Knows, Glen Scully (Leading Armies), Diane Daly (Irish Chamber Orchestra), Naïve Ted, Ciara Meade, David, James and Ann Blake (Brad Pitt Light Orchestra), Murli, Peter Hanagan, Patrick O’Brien (Windings, Last Days of Death Country), Lisa Bourke, Anthony Monaghan (Protobaby), Bart Kiely Denise Chaila and Boris Hunka.
As last time there will be three stages, allowing the different songs to seamlessly link, and the gig will be streamed live.
Music Generation’s Limerick Voices happens tonight Tuesday January 27 at Limerick School of Art and Design. The event will be streamed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWYzUdyT4sE
