Cian Murphy has been extremely ill since the day he was born and spent the first 21 months of his life in Our Lady’s Hospital for Children in Crumlin.

Cian has an unknown diagnosis. He has a tracheostomy, is on a ventilator and also has congenital cardiac and endocrine issues.

Cian only returned home to Limerick in October 2013 and now, in conjunction with the Limerick Regional hospital, is doing very well since his return. According to his mum Orla “He has had a few blips since he came home but thankfully he is now doing great, even starting pre school in January. He is our miracle little man and we are very proud of him.”

So, when Cian’s SNA (Special Needs Assistant) Majella contacted Share A Dream to see if they could make Cian’s 3rd birthday a very special day with a visit from their magical Dream Machine, they immediately said they would love to.

Last Saturday January 17 the magical Dream Machine arrived to his home in Rhebogue along with Woody, Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse followed by Cian’s cousins and friends. After Cian and all his friends enjoyed the birthday party inside his home with all the characters they then spent an hour enjoying the magic that is the “Dream Machine.”

“We work with hundreds of very special children like Cian all over Ireland and it’s such a wonderful privilege for our volunteers to be part of something so special and sharing a wonderful dream with absolute angels”, said Shay Kinsella, founder of Share A Dream.

Mum Orla said: “Thank you so much Share A Dream for all the happy memories you gave us. Cian and all the family absolutely loved it! It’s wonderful the joy Share A Dream bring to so many children like our little Cian. Thank you.”
