LIMERICK city saw it’s first flurry of snow for the new year this week, much too late for a white Christmas. Temperatures plummeted in the city during the day and snow began to fall. But according to weather forecasters, there’s no need to get the snow shovels out. The next couple of days is promised higher temperatures but with very strong winds. Meanwhile, on the heels of several wind storms, another blast of wind will sweep across Ireland during the middle of the week. In advance of this storm system, it will still be unsettled and breezy with showery conditions across northern Europe, however no widespread travel problems are anticipated through Wednesday morning.
