THE WBO have announced on their website that Billy Joe Saunders and Andy Lee have 30 days, from December 13, to negotiate an agreement for a World Title bout. The statement also states that should an accord not be reached by January 12, 2015 a Purse Bib will be ordered, which has a minimum value of 200,000 US Dollars.
Lee, who secured the title after stopping Matvey Korobov in Las Vegas, is expected to fight one voluntary defence before taking on Billy Joe Saunders in the required mandatory defence. Saunders is the current European and Commonwealth title holder who impressed in his recent defence of those titles against British rival Chris Eubank Jnr.

Please be advised that the parties have 30 days (starting on December 13, the date in which Mr Lee won the WBO middleweight championship of the world) to negotiate an agreement for the WBO championship bout between Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunders.” said the WBO in a statement on their website today.
“If an accord is not reached between January 12, 2015, a purse bid will be ordered.”
