THE manufacture and trafficking of illegal medicine is the subject of a major Garda investigation that has resulted in a number of arrests and searches being undertaken in the Limerick area before Christmas.
Six men were detained and questioned under the provisions of the Criminal Justice Act following a surveillance operation that has been carried out throughout 2014.
Gardaí uncovered drug manufacturing units in Limerick where a number of items were seized along with documentation and product.
Similar type factories were uncovered in Tipperary, Kilkenny and in the Galway/Roscommon region.The Garda iInvestigations are continuing.
