Limerick CLG last night announced that double All Ireland winning captain, Clarecastle clubman and former Clare & Dublin manager, Anthony Daly has been appointed as the new Head Coach of Limerick GAA Underage Hurling Academy. Daly will begin work from January 1st 2015 and will also assume the role of coach for the Limerick minor hurling team as part of manager Leo O’Connor’s management team.
The Limerick County board are said to be delighted to have appointed one of the most sought after coaches in the Country. Daly brings a wealth of talent and experience to the role and his appointment shows Limerick GAA’s commitment to ensuring the highest standards in underage hurling development that have been in place since the launch of the Lifting the Treaty blueprint in 2008.
The board, in a statement announcing the appointment, again thanked the outgoing Head Coach of the Underage Hurling Academy, Jerry Wallace for his outstanding contribution to the development of Limerick’s next generation of hurlers and wish him every success in his role with his home club of Midleton.
