LIMERICK’S Christmas programme is proving successful, attracting an online reach of 250,00 hits across Facebook and Twitter and the www.christmas.limerick.ie website in just three weeks.

Limerick Marketing Company assistant chief executive Aoife O’Shaughnessy said:“There’s a major effort gone into making this a great Christmas for Limerick and it appears to be reaping rewards.”

The action is now in full swing, with the latest addition to the programme – the city’s very own Carol-oke store. The Little Catherine Street venue, which opened last weekend, adds to the stock of two other festive destinations opened for the season – the North Pole Post Office and Elf Enterprises HQ, both on O’Connell Street.

1,600 children have entered the two special stores over the past two weekends since they opened.

In addition, there are more than 80  Culture of Christmas events on in the city and more than 40 local outlets taking part in the Taste of Christmas initiative.
