Bríd Finn, a volunteer with Limerick’s Elemental Arts and Culture Festival, has been announced as one of 30 shortlisted volunteers for this year’s Volunteer Ireland Awards.
Over 500 nominations were received for this year’s Awards ceremony, Ireland’s biggest Awards campaign for volunteers.
Bríd Finn began volunteering with the Elemental Festival team this year. She took on the voluntary role of Volunteer Coordinator for the event. The festival’s volunteers are essential to the running of the event each year and having worked for and volunteered for numerous arts organisations over the years, Bríd knew exactly what was required to make everyone feel part of the Elemental team.
Bríd took on the massive task of recruiting, interviewing and scheduling volunteers to assist with each of the festival’s events over the three day festival. She established ‘The Elementalists’ – the team of volunteers to make the festival happen. Bríd made every volunteer feel welcome as an Elementalist.
The Volunteer Ireland Awards is the national campaign to recognise Ireland’s volunteers. 30 shortlisted volunteers and their friends and family will attend a gala Volunteer Ireland Awards ceremony on December 4 in Dublin City Hall in celebration of International Volunteer Day.
One shortlisted volunteer will be the recipient of the Christine Buckley Volunteer of the Year Award. The award is named in memory of the late Christine Buckley – campaigner, activist and Co-Founder of The Aislinn Centre.
