Limerick girl Sophie loses fight for life

Sophie MulcahyA TERMINALLY ill eight-year-old girl from Limerick died in the early hours of Thursday morning after a prolonged fight for life.

Sophie Mulcahy from Rhebogue, who suffered from a rare condition named 1Q43 Deletion, had battled six open heart operations and overcame lung and kidney failure, having spent a substantial amount of her short life in Crumlin Children’s Hospital.
