JobBridge checks

-

jobbridge EDUCATION Minister Jan O’Sullivan says she plans to carry out checks to ensure that schools are using the JobBridge internship scheme appropriately.

Following the news that schools have advertised JobBridge positions for teachers, special needs assistants (SNAs) and cleaners, Minister O’Sullivan said that individual schools should use the scheme “with some discretion”.

She added that she wants to make sure that they use it appropriately.

“The intention of JobBridge is that it would not displace jobs. So I would be concerned if there are suggestions that that might be happening in the education system,” commented Minister O’Sullivan.
