Fionnuala on the double for Donal O’Kelly

by Rose Rushe

A: Donal O'Kelly in FIONNUALA - Theatre at the Savoy - September
IT’s a return to Limerick for Donal O’Kelly’s one man show, ‘FIONNUALA’ at Theatre at the Savoy next Thursday 25 at 1pm and 6pm, and Friday 26, 1pm show only. Actor, writer, producer O’Kelly has created the character of Ambrose Keogh, who works for Shell.
When the tunnel-boring machine that he named Fionnuala sinks into the bog in Erris, he is confronted by another Fionnuala, protective sister/ swan of the Children of Lir.
She puts a ‘geas’ on him: hence he is bound to tell the truth about Shell’s operations, such as the attack on Willie Corduff in a site at Glengad.
