LIMERICK TD and Minister for Finance Michael Noonan has revealed he is recovering well from cancer and that barring any deterioration in his health, he intends on running in the next general election.
Last February, Minister Noonan was diagnosed with sarcoma on his right arm which required surgery and radiotherapy.
Former Irish Olympic swimmer, Dr Gary O’Toole, advised Minister Noonan aid his recovery through swimming.
This week while, Minister Noonan explained that “the operation took away some muscle and I was swimming right through August and got a lot of the mobility back. I got it all back actually. I am the only one in Ireland who is swimming under prescription.”
The Limerick TD said that he is “fit and well again” and that following a recent check-up, “there is no incidents of cancer anywhere else in my system,” he said.
Mr Noonan said that he intended on running in the next general election in Spring 2016 barring any health issues.
