One million virtual visitors

Limerick.ie1millionONE MILLION people have now visited Limerick.ie, the official website for Limerick.

In less than four years Limerick.ie has been visited by unique users from 214 countries across the globe including India, Brazil, Japan, Greece and Mexico, according to Google Analytics.

Congratulating Limerick.ie, Cathaoirleach of Limerick City and County Council Cllr Kevin Sheahan said Limerick.ie plays an essential role in promoting Limerick and having such a strong, popular site is a vital asset.

“Limerick is competing with other European destinations in terms of business, tourism, living and investment so it is vital for us to have such a strong resource like Limerick.ie to showcase our key attributes. There’s a huge increase in the amount of tourists to Limerick, and Ireland, and that is reflected in Limerick.ie, with the Visitors section the most popular on the site.

“Following the amalgamation of Limerick City Council and Limerick County Council, the new local authority website, www.limerick.ie/council, is now also part of Limerick.ie, which has helped to drive visitor numbers to almost 2,000 every day,” he explained.
