Limerick City will host Ireland’s first obstacle course challenge on Sunday, September 14.
Organized in conjunction with Sohol Events in conjunction with Limerick City of Culture, the event will start and finish at Howley’s Quay taking entrants on a breathtaking circuit adventure though an obstacle covered Limerick City.
Taking over the streets, obstacles will be placed along a 7km route that will involve climbing over buses, through cars and all your typical obstacle course challenges! No long boring run stretches and a few hidden surprises.
Event Manager Dave Ryan said, “These urban style obstacle courses have been very successful in USA and UK and we are excited to be the first to bring it to Ireland and what better place to bring it to than Limerick City” of Culture.
“It’s not a race but more about challenging yourself, which we feel is accessible to all fitness levels.” he continues “if you can’t do it, walk around it, grab a buddy and come down it’s a great day out!”
Suzanne O’Brien of Limerick’s Live 95FM said, “We are delighted Limerick City Obstacle Course is making the 95 Stop Tour their Charity of Choice, we hope to raise much needed funds for both the Children’s Arc & Cari”.
“This is something Ireland has never seen in a city before and I am delighted to be associated with what is set to be a great event Limerick has never seen the likes of before”, said event sponsor Peter Clohessy.
There will be plenty of post-race entertainment with a BBQ and band waiting to great you at the finish line. Media inquiries Dave Ryan
