Ireland’s first city obstacle course bound for Limerick

photo 1LIMERICK is to host Ireland’s first city obstacle course when runners will take to the start line of this breathtaking adventure on Sunday September 14 next.

Sohol Events have released details of the Limerick City Obstacle Course where the start and finish line is at Howley’s Quay taking entrants on a breathtaking circuit adventure though an obstacle covered Limerick City.

Obstacles will be placed along a 7km route that will involve climbing, swinging, dashing and racing!

No long boring run stretches entrants will be kept on their toes the whole time.

Event Manager Dave Ryan said, “These urban style obstacle courses have been very successful in USA and UK and we are excited to be the first to bring it to Ireland and what better place to bring it to than Limerick City of Culture.

“It’s not a race but more about challenging yourself, which we feel is accessible to all fitness levels.” he continues “if you can’t do it, walk around it, grab a buddy and come down it’s a great day out!”

Suzanne O’Brien of Limerick’s Live 95FM said, “We are delighted Limerick City Obstacle Course is making the 95 Stop Tour their Charity of Choice, we hope to raise much needed funds for both the Limerick Children’s Arc & Cari Limerick”.

Peter Clohessy is delighted to be sponsoring the event, “This is something Ireland has never seen in a city before and I am delighted to be associated with what is set to be a great event for Limerick City”.

Post race entertainment with a BBQ and band will be waiting to greet the runners at the finish line.
