COUNCILLOR Maurice Quinlivan called for an urgent investigation of the water pipe infrastructure in the Ballynanty area today, after it was revealed that Irish Water has written to a resident cautioning him not to drink the water due to too much lead in his house pipes.
Cllr Quinlivan said “It seems incredibly unlikely that just one residence should suffer from this very serious problem. If other houses have not been tested then I am calling on Irish Water to carry out these tests and inform residents of the results without delay”.
