THE LAST of Limerick’s celebrated quad babies, Amelia, has arrived home to Caherconlish, making the Slattery family complete.

After four years of trying, James and Grace Slattery welcomed their three adorable girls and one son into the world on May 26 at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin.

Grace was due to have a Caesarian section, but went into spontaneous labour and James was helped by the gardaí in Henry Street, who gave him a high-speed escort so he could reach the Dublin hospital in time for the births.

The tiny tots were kept in the special baby unit at first, but this week they all joined their parents and James’s older son Joshua (13)  at home in Limerick.

The Limerick quads weighed in from the biggest, Amelia Helen, at 4lbs 3oz, to the smallest Mollie Rose at 2lbs 15 oz. their brother Lucas James tipped the scales at 3lbs 10oz and Lily Grace May made her debut at 3lbs 4oz.

The proud parents James and Grace  welcomed their precious baby quads home and they weren’t the only delivery to arrive safely at the Co. Limerick home. The Slatterys will be keeping the four new babies happy in their nappies with the unexpected gift of a much-needed supply of 6,400 Pampers nappies.
