โ€œThis delightful programme features Gidon Kremerโ€™s arrangement of Alfred Schnittkeโ€™s Polka which is a little racy, scary but quite funny,โ€ reports Charlotte Eglinton, marketing manager for the orchestra. โ€œHis unabashedly comical โ€˜Moz-Art ร  la Haydnโ€™ grew from Schnittkeโ€™s extraordinary ability to fragment and reassemble diverse music in new and unexpected ways.

โ€œTwo colliding worlds, from the clarity of Mozart to the chaos of Schnittke, make for one great parodyโ€.

On then to Haydnโ€™s cello duet demonstrating virtuosity and spirit from the soloists. โ€œMozartโ€™s Divertimento in B is full of sparking and dramatic themes, a shining example of the young composerโ€™s most enchanting string music. Tchaikovsky romantic and much loved Serenade was written โ€˜from the heartโ€™ as an homage to Mozartโ€.

Donโ€™t miss these two great concerts with Irish Chamber Orchestra at Ballingarry church and Cultรบrlann Sweeney, booking on www.irishchamberorchestra.com
