AFTER its successful summer appearance at the Mozartfest in Wurzburg, Irish Chamber Orchestra is on the road locally to give concerts in Ballingarry, Co. Limerick on Friday July 25 and in Cultúrlann, Kilkee on Friday 26 at 8pm.
ICO leader Katherine Hunka directs the tour for “a fabulously entertaining programme of exceptional diversity offering a kaleidoscopic range of music, combining old with vibrant new sounds”.
‘From Vienna to the Volga’ is the title of this programme, with Schnittke’s Polka, Mozart’s Divertimento in B Flat major, Haydn’s Cello duo in D-Major Job, Schnittke’s Moz-Art a Haydn and Thcaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings.
