THE national network that is Comhaltas Ceolteoirí Eireann is staging individual Seisiún of music, song and dance throughout the country. Hunt Museum becomes the platform for a seven week production for Limerick put forward at the museum’s riverfront café (open) on Thursday nights.

Producer Tomás O Maoldomhnaigh is clear that “each presentation is a rehearsed programme, a different line up of musicians, dancers and singers with about 16 artists taking part in ours.

“We have 10 to 12 musicians, five dancers and two singers and the format is circa 50 minutes of Seisiún, then an interval and continuing on.

“What we always do at the end of the formal programme is present the opportunity to people in the audience to sing a song, play an instrument, learn a dance. It’s a wonderful night out for Irish people and others, and to hear musicians at their best”.
