LIMERICK Arts Office, Limerick City and County Council encourages recognised cultural practitioners, artists, writers and multi-disciplinary practitioners, to apply for the use of four new Arts Studio Units in Cappamore, Co. Limerick.
The Arts Studios are part of Limerick City and County Council’s ongoing cultural strategy to develop the cultural infrastructure of Limerick.The studios attract artists to working in Limerick by encouraging working within a rural context.Limerick Arts Officer Shelia Deegan explained that the addition of studios into this mixed-use development in Cappamore will bring “cultural,community and economic value to Limerick”.
She continued that all applicants must be professional practitioners and hold a degree or a diploma from a recognised educational institution or have equivalent professional experience.Applicants must also have been born in or be resident in the Republic of Ireland.Persons in full time education, undergraduate students and full time MA students will not be considered for occupancy.
A selection committee will review the applications and based on the material provided makes recommendations to Limerick City and County Council. An interview may form a part of the selection process.The successful applicants will be vetted by An Garda Siochana. Final awarding of the studio units is subject to satisfactory Garda vetting.
