IT was quadrupled joy for a Limerick couple this week, as they welcomed three baby girls and a baby boy into the world.
It was a dream come true for James and Grace Slattery from Caherconlish. The couple had suffered four miscarriages and had just about given up hope of having a family of their own.
After a 33 week pregnancy, the tots were delivered by Caesarian section in the Rotunda hospital in Dublin on Monday.
Amelia Helen weighed in at 4.3 lbs, followed by Lucas James, 3.10lbs, Mollie Rose, 2.15 lbs, and little Lily Grace May 3.4 lbs.
James, who has a 13-year old son, Josh, got a call on Monday to say his wife’s waters had broken a day ahead of the planned c-section, and he had just two hours to get to Dublin to see the birth.
“I rang the gardai in Henry street and they organised an escort for me – they were fantastic,” he said.
