NOFIT State, the company behind contemporary circus BIANCO, has chosen Limerick for the international premier of its new season show. Bound for a big top within Culture Factory for June 14 to 22, brought here by City of Culture offices, the Limerick production will be the first staging of 2014′s format.
“We have a 550 person capacity – it’s the way were present the work which is a promenade show,” creative producer Tom Rack tells Arts page. “Performers will be below, above, around, beside and we like think, inside the audience as well. It’s a really good quality experience for everybody”.
The spaceship structure of the arena is crowned by giant towers, confirming an otherwordly experience enhanced by the live band on stage with a total of 20 performers.
The Plassey Road venue premiers 2014′s international tour: “We’ve brought in new artists, found new people, worked on refreshing the music and choreography”.
Rack describes the finale sequence as a “just breathtakingly beautiful image, sensational. Then here’s an amazing sequence with a girl in a massive white dress and it’s the cinematic scale of all which evolves into an amazing piece of circus”.
Anticipate tightwire acts, a juggler “whose style and quality is burning to watch, trapeze artists filling the air”. All is underscored by a live musical performance to heighten levels of “excitement and spectacle”.
