A DRUGS factory as well as ecstasy tablets were discovered at a house in Limerick as part of a planned operation into tackling drug crime in the Mid West region.
Gardai from the divisional drugs unit, together with units from Henry Street and Bruff stations searched a house in Annagh, Lisnagry last Saturday night and uncovered the drugs manufacturing plant with tablets worth €150,000 and cannabis valued at €50,000 at another address.
The search took place at 7pm as part of an ongoing operation and two arrests were made at the scene.
Two men in their 20s, one local man and one man from the outside the county, were arrested at the scene. They had been renting the property and are currently detained at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
In a follow up search at an apartment in Caislean na hAbhainn, Castletroy, cannabis herb was seized to the value of €50,000.
One man in his 20s was arrested in Castletroy.
All three men are being held at Henry Street Garda Station under Drugs Trafficking legislation and can be held for up to 7 days without charge.
The drugs have been sent to the garda forensic labs for further analysis.
These arrests are the latest by gardaí as part of an ongoing operation into the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Limerick area.
