A MAJOR boost for tourism in the region is being predicted as Shannon airport sees the launch of nine new routes this week.
And Ryanair’s Sales and marketing Manager for Ireland, Maria Macken, is predicting that there will be almost as many people interested in flying in to Ireland on the new routes as there are people flying out.
“We’re seeing strong bookings on the new routes and we will be expecting to deliver a lot of passengers into the region as well,” she told the Limerick Post after a press briefing on the new routes at the airport this week.
“We’re doing a huge marketing campaign around the Wild Atlantic Way and Limerick being the City of Culture – we’re giving them every reason to come here,” she said.
The nine new routes will serve some of Europe’s leading destinations.
