As a youth justice worker, he has worked closely with several bodies including the Gardai in dealing with anti-social behaviour. He views the role of councillor as a “natural extension” to his current role.

“I will have a bigger platform on which to air the views of Limerick people. I will be a strong, passionate voice at the council table and aim to have community development and job creation at the top of my agenda,” Mr Daly promised.

City councillor Tom Shortt this week welcomed him as a second Northside Labour candidate.

“Frankie has an excellent record as a youth worker and the success of Northside Legacy the new soccer club that he started four years ago is a reflection of his hard work and drive at providing young people with a positive outlet for their energies,” said Cllr Shortt.
