Mens: Results of the Team of Four Semi-Open Qualifier played on Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th March. The winning team with a score of 113 points was, Tom Hickey, Stephen Hickey, Timmy King, Tom Kelly. Our competition this Sunday 23rd is Easter Lamb Scotch Foursomes. Open singles starting this Tuesday 18th March and will run every Tuesday until late September. There will be a prize for best Gross each week.

Lady Captain’s Outing is on Sunday 13 th April. Round 6 of our Spring League was completed last week in perfect conditions. The final line-up will be confirmed on Saturday evening next after this week’s extra round is completed. All teams start level next Sunday in the 18 hole competition with the 1st team to Tee –off at 12 noon and will be followed by a 13 hole scramble at 12.30 for those teams that did not qualify for the final. Our Captain Thady Greene and his committee would like to thank Dave Kavanagh, DOE Test Centre, Tipperary, for his kind Sponsorship of the Spring League and would encourage all members to support our sponsors wherever possible. The Tony Connolly sponsored 2014 Winter League qualifying rounds have been completed. The final playoff between the top eight teams will take place on Sun March 23rd from 10.00-11.36 am. Competitors may contact the club office for details of allotted tee times or can check these via the BRS online booking system. Presentation of prizes is scheduled for 15.30 on the same day. Team 2(Aidan O’Mahoney, Sean Conway, John O’Shaughnessy, Michael O’Shea Jnr & Seamus Mungovan) were the winners of Week Four with 111 points followed closely by Team 11(Sean Donnellan, John Collins, Shane Collins, Philip Naughton & Jimmy McManus) with 110 points and in joint third with 107 points are Team 4(Gay O’Gara, Mervyn Fraser, Seamus Cusack, Ryan Foley & Hugh O’Neill) & Team 6(Paschal Duggan, Ger Copley, Vinny Derham, Ian Mulready & Robert Healy).

A large turnout of members played in the first tournament of the year. The Tradaree Cup last weekend 14-15-16, March great credit must go to the management course staff and members for their tremendous effort in getting 18 holes open for the tournament.The course is in great condition with all 18 holes open for play and the trees there were blown down during the recent storm have been removed. Next weekend THE March Medal will be played on Friday 21st Sat.22nd Sunday 23rd. Village Golf Society
The Village Golf Society starts 2014 with the final of the inter society golf versus cappagh on Saturday next 22nd march in Charleville. Final preparations are being made and under the watchful eye of golfer of the year Dan McInerney, no stone is being left unturned. The lads tee off from 11.30 and your support would be greatly appreciated.
Our first outing of the year is the following morning, Sunday 23rd in Tipperary Town Golf Club. The start of a new year for captain Kevin Higgins and we wish him every success for his year. Tee off from 10.30-12.00, please arrive in good time to make it easier on the lads sorting out the admin side of it with green fees, membership, handicaps and scorecards to be looked after on the day.
