A number of Garda checkpoints will also be carried out on the day advising members of our community about the importance of securing their property. Garda members at Community Policing in Henry Street will also be in contact with their local community groups and resident associations providing valuable advice.

Sergeant Justin McCarthy, Crime Prevention Officer, Henry Street will be presenting this weeks Garda file on Limerick’s Live 95fm also on this Wednesday March 12 and will also provide listeners with valuable crime prevention advice.

This “National Crime Prevention Day of Action”, is the first in a series of targeted crime prevention campaigns which An Garda Siochana will be rolling out nationally. The focus on this first crime prevention day of action is burglaries.

The dissemination of simple yet effective burglary advice will provide members of our community with methods to protect their property and personal belongings. We hope that each member of the community avails of this opportunity to receive this valuable advice.
