KNOCKADERRY is getting ready to host the West Limerick Drama Festival, which takes place in the community’s Resource Centre from February 28 to March 9.
The Resource Centre will stage six shows across two weekends in a facility with superb sound and lighting, a capacity of 200 seats and a bar area for refreshments.
The festival kicks off on Friday February 28 with Knockaderry Drama Group’s adaptation of ‘Moonshine’ by Jim Nolan, with further shows from drama groups from Banagher and Dooega on Saturday March 1 and Sunday 2.
It will resume on Friday March 7 for a second weekend with shows from Feohanagh/Castlemahon and Fonehagh drama groups, and the final show on Sunday 9 is JM Synge’s ‘Playboy of the Western World’ by the Seamus O’Kelly Players from Loughrea.
Curtain for all six shows is 8pm and audience members will have the choice to buy tickets nightly or purchase a ‘season ticket’ for the entire festival.
Trophies will be awarded at the culmination of the festival, based on the decision of a panel of adjudicators.
