COMEDY at Dolan’s and Limerick’s Live 95fm presented a very special guest last week as Irish comedian Barry Murphy performed at the popular Warehouse venue. One of Ireland’s top comedians and co-founder of Ireland’s longest running comedy venue, the Comedy Cellar, Barry was joined on stage by Limerick comedian and MC for the night Karl Spain, and comedian Jake Bourke. There was a superb atmosphere at the gig with some fans arriving early to avail of the special pre-gig menu on offer before enjoying a superb night from the Aprés Match star who incidentally, was recognized as one of the 10 Kings of Irish Comedy over the last 20 years by Hot Press. And speaking of Hot Press, there was also a great buzz amongst the staff at the Warehouse who were proudly celebrating their special commendation from the music magazine for Live Music Venue of the year. It’s great to see Comedy at Dolan’s becoming such a popular force to be reckoned with and speaking of great comedy, a gig definitely worth putting in the diary is on Wednesday March 12 when legendary Irish funny man Des Bishop will return to the Warehouse. Another fun night out worth noting is the 2nd national Drag Queen contest ‘Drag Hens Den’ presented by Dionysus Klub Nights. It takes place this Saturday February 15 in Dolan’s Warehouse. The brightest and best of Ireland’s drag acts will descend on Limerick for the event which was a huge success last year. This promises to be a night oozing with plenty of glamour, dry wit and musical performances, not one to be missed!
