WHEN Limerick face Longford on Sunday 9 at 2pm in the Gaelic Grounds, both sides will be fully aware that this round two clash carries with it huge importance.
With Limerick (Sligo 0-15 to 0-13) and Longford (Roscommon 0-10 to 0-13) losing on the opening day, another defeat could well dispel the losers to the bottom of the Division Three table.
Limerick were unlucky on their travels to Sligo, with a last minute goal line clearance denying them a much sought after victory in John Brudair’s first game in charge.
Longford too will rue missed opportunities in their clash with Roscommon. Having lost all seven league games last season, Longford know only too well the dangers of a poor start to the league.
