THE fifth annual Barrington’s Hospital Great Limerick Run is off to a flying start with over 1,000 runners registering for the event since its official launch this January.
The hugely popular event will take to its strides on the city’s streets on Sunday May 4 next. Established as one of the highlights of the Limerick sporting calendar, over 12,000 people have now registered for this year’s race over the RiverFest holiday weekend.
Co-organiser of the Great Limerick Run, Cllr Joe Leddin enthused, “The run brings great colour and excitement to the city not just on race day but also in the weeks and months building up to it as every neighbourhood becomes a training ground for experienced and novice runners alike.”
Meanwhile, JJ O’Toole Ltd have been announced as sponsor of the Barrington’s Hospital Great Limerick Run goody bag for a second year. Celebrating its centenary this year, the company’s eye-catching non-woven drawstring goody bags will be distributed to participants upon registration at the Sports Arena, University of Limerick on the Saturday prior to race day.
