GUESTS attending the UL Bohs Race Night last Saturday in Russell’s Bar really pulled out all the stops as you can see from our photographs this week.
Members and supporters of the club dressed to impress for the fundraiser which boasted some fantastic prizes for both ‘Best Dressed Lady’ and ‘Best Dressed Couple’!
It really was like a night at the racecourse as everyone got into the theme of the event which boasted 11 races featuring ten horses each. These were shown on big screens throughout the popular pub in Dooradoyle.
Thanks to the hardworking committee and club members, a brilliant night’s entertainment was in store for those attending who got the chance to bet on their favourites from the list of aptly named horses and jockeys at the dedicated in-house tote.
MC for the night was Mike ‘MK’ Clancy and he and bookie Mel Hurley – and everyone involved in organising the event – made sure everyone had a fantastic night of fun with lots of excitement.
Judges for the best dressed prizes were also busy watching out for some great style on the night and with prizes like vouchers from Shades of Hair and Beauty and The Harbour Hotel in Galway up for grabs, it wasn’t surprising to see the effort that everyone made.
Other highlights of the evening included tasty finger food, desserts and a raffle plus a top door prize of an overnight stay with breakfast in The Cliff Hotel, Waterford – and a three course meal in their Michelin star restaurant. After all the fun of the races, guests enjoyed music from a live band as the party continued until late.
